The Micro-Periodical: Reviews on Books, Film, and Other Forms of Media

LEAVES OF LOVE

A traditional periodical is a publication that comes out on a rigid, regular cycle—like a weekly magazine, a monthly journal, or a seasonal review. In the traditional literary world, these fixed schedules keep readers anchored.

But at IGP SHIP—where storms of creativity are more than likely to pick up the pace in various chambers inside The Derecho—we do things differently. Here, we embrace the adaptive rhythm of micro-periodicals.

What is a Micro-Periodical?

A micro-periodical takes the essence of a traditional review journal and condenses it into a powerful, focused current. Instead of releasing massive, overwhelming volumes, it delivers curated batches of high-quality writing spotlighting books, songs, films, and diverse forms of media. As a one-woman press, this organic structure allows the founder to focus deeply on what matters most, without being bound by rigid corporate deadlines.

The Goal | Promoting Global Creatives

An intentional community initiative built to promote, uplift, and celebrate published works by independent writers, artists, and creatives across the literary horizon.

Review or Be Reviewed

This specialized review path stems directly from The Prism Forum's opportunities for community engagement right here at the SHIP, serving as the foundational harbor for purpose-driven work.

The Prism Forum
Our Reviews

Every review we publish focuses on a comprehensive deep-dive into many forms of media. The reviews are conducted with absolute integrity—free from bias, prejudice, or preconceived notions, but certainly from our point of view, and not to please anyone.

Ink Review Gangsters
The Initiative

The micro-periodical series is proudly hosted by the Ink Review Gangsters (IRG). Breaking away from predictable monthly or yearly grids, each periodical is released organically in batches of 3 to 13 issues whenever the creative tide feels right.
