Candlebara is our term for the fantasy genre, world-building, and themes that delve into the reality of life, only to get transformed into epics, conlang languages, and chapters of myth.

The Meaning Behind the Name

The word Candlebara is a woven tapestry
of ancient roots that directly align with our creative purpose:

Shine Brightly in the Dark

Derived from the Latin candēla (from candēre, meaning "to shine" or "to glow"), representing the light of imagination that illuminates the heavy realities of life.

Make Bread Out of Nothing

Rooted in the Biblical Hebrew verb bārā' (בָּרָא, meaning "to create") and the Old Celtic bara (Welsh and Cornish for bread or cake), signifying our power to create essential, soul-nourishing stories out of thin air.

Create Little Waves of Hope

Connected to the Old Norse bára (meaning a billow, swell, or little wave), mirroring how small, quiet stories can swell into massive, sweeping epics of change.

The Destination

This individual direction began first in 2013 as a personal journey. Today, it stands as a dedicated pathway where human experiences are transformed into timeless folklore.

Where it lives: These chapters of myth will find their permanent home published in books at the Lore Bookshelf within The IGP Library.
