Translations Of Hope (TOH)

Promoting hope and unwrapping the stigma of mental health

Translations Of Hope is a mental health initiative by Ink Gladiators Press®, created to encourage expression, connection, and healing through creative voices across the world.

Rooted in the belief that hope is timeless, nurturing, and can be rediscovered through the expression of our gifts—words, art, and creativity—it continues to evolve as a space for collaboration, advocacy, and shared solidarity in difficult, reflective, and joyful times.

TOH’s Hourglass Vision on Mental Health

“Don’t be afraid to restart, again and again and again.”
Self-care + Connection = Hope

Translations of Hope (TOH) is a multilingual, mental health and hope-oriented book community by Ink Gladiators Press that honors mental health through hope-filled publications. TOH uplifts voices across generations, geographies, and brings attention to the generosity of people—especially those often unheard in traditional spaces. It creates space for sorrow, healing, and courage to coexist.

Get Involved

Through intake windows, contributors submit original, translated and creative works—visual art, poetry, performance stills, short stories, translations, letters, and essays.

As a member of global networks, TOH weaves mental health advocacy, multilingual zines, and creative expression to reimagine care that can reach across borders. Every heart is received with heart. Every voice becomes part of an ever-growing collection of resilience. Every language is a colorful thread being woven into the tapestry of what we do.

I. The Heart of TOH

Why do we exist? We’re not just looking for advocates. We’re seeking the ones who became advocates—not because life made it easy, but because they carried their own sorrow, and still chose love.

These are the ones who turned pain into presence, loneliness into language, and heartbreak into healing—for themselves and others. These are the ones who make hope tangible. These are the ones TOH honors, amplifies, and walks with.

We don’t just see people in darkness—we see the ones holding the light for others while still sitting in the dark themselves. And that changes everything. That’s the heart of TOH. And why we exist.

II. Creating Hope

When we began inviting mental health advocates to contribute to TOH, we expected insight. What we didn’t expect was wonder. Wonder in their eyes at being asked. At being seen beyond their roles. At being allowed to express rather than explain.

And it struck us—how rarely the helpers are held. Many of them had never been asked how they felt. Never had space for their own healing, grief, or creative breath. They were always carrying a candle for others—no one saw the weight of their own darkness.

So we decided to make a little book, not just as an offering for the world, but as a resting place for those who never stop giving. Because they too need to feel light again. To be reminded: You matter, not because you help others—but because you exist, fully and fiercely.

III. Words, Art & Creativity

Humanity often measures itself through flaws. We’re taught to focus on wounds to prove our worth, but in the eyes of something far greater, we are whole, even in our brokenness.

When mental health crumbles, it can feel like the ground disappears beneath you. It’s paralyzing. Terrifying. Isolating. The pain can be so loud it brings you to your knees, begging for grace on the cold floor of your life. And yet, even there, something flickers—Hope.

Translations of Hope was born from that flicker. It is a project, a space, a soul-rooted community that believes healing speaks many languages. To hope is to speak. To create is to rise. This is where pain becomes poetry and despair transforms into resilience.

IV. The Lanterns

What Are The Lanterns? The Lanterns are heart-led, small-format mental health collections created for sharing hope, healing, and truth around the world. Contributors retain full rights to their work.

We publish poetry, stories, letters, performance stills, quotes, artwork, photos, and translations that speak from the soul. Currently, we have inaugurated the first solo mental health series called FOR YOU, but this will change in the future as more series are added.

These silver and gold lantern booklets are reminders. They hold the weight of what’s often unseen in mental health advocacy: the sacred fractures. They don’t try to fix you. They simply say: “Look what you can do with the stones that were thrown.”

V. Community Matters

Healing shouldn’t come with a price tag. Translations of Hope (TOH) was born from grief, kindness, and a desire to hold hands with those in the dark.

We believe:

• Hope is not a commodity
• Access to care should not depend on money
• Stories can be lifelines

This is a heart-led book publishing community for those who’ve been lost. This is for the ones still searching for light. This is for all of us. Different languages, different hearts, one pathway towards the true light.

VI. Global Alignments

In July 2025, Translations of Hope became members of the Global Mental Health Action Network (GMHAN) and Mental Health Innovative Network (MHIN). This affiliation marks the beginning of TOH’s deepening connection with global conversations around mental health, rights-based care, and creative advocacy.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day (October 10), TOH provides Hope Dealer publication opportunities through The Lanterns. In the present and future, TOH has grown into its own space that commands an equal respect to foster growth in the way it was always meant to with purpose, love and care.
